As a birder, it’s crucial to have to right optics or you might miss that rare sighting. On a birding trip to Texas last spring I took only one pair of binoculars – Alpen’s new Wings ED 10x42. These are the best pair of binoculars I’ve ever owned and helped me add 30 new birds to my life list. The Wings are bright and clear, and comparable to optics twice the price.
The ED part of the name stands for “Extra low Dispersion” and is achieved through the use of fluorite glass, which provides the best color fidelity and contrast in all light conditions. The lightweight binoculars are waterproof-sealed and nitrogen-filled, and have rubber armoring for holding comfort and shock protection. The ergonomic open-hinge body design and twist-up eye cups provide viewing ease for everyone. Also included are a deluxe travel case and wide, comfortable neck strap, along with Alpen’s lifetime warranty.
These new binoculars go with me whether I’m bird watching, wildlife watching or hunting.
